Prince Frederick man admits to premeditated murder of Shaquille Braxton

by Sophia Bennett

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – On February 14, 2025, Thomas Eugene Harris, II, 28, of Prince Frederick, pleaded guilty to first-degree premeditated murder in the death of Shaquille Quadry Braxton, 30, also of Prince Frederick.

The incident occurred when deputies responded to a call and found Braxton unresponsive in a field. Despite life-saving efforts, Braxton was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Calvert Health Medical Center (CHMC). Authorities later determined that Braxton had suffered multiple stab wounds, including lacerations on his neck and under his ear, causing his death.

The investigation revealed that Braxton and Harris had been in a prior dispute. Braxton had attempted to visit his child, who lived with Harris’ girlfriend, at her home on Fairground Road, Prince Frederick. The argument escalated, leading to the fatal encounter. Deputies located Harris and, after questioning, he confessed to assaulting Braxton and striking him multiple times. Harris had visible injuries on his hands when he confessed.

Harris was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault with an edged weapon. He is currently held without bond at the Calvert County Detention Center. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 15, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Calvert County District Court.
