WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge man, identified as Thomas Cassagne, 27, was arrested on Thursday, July 17, after he allegedly stole a school board credit card and used it for unauthorized purchases.
According to the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on July 10 when the West Baton Rouge Parish School Board reported that a credit card had been stolen from an employee’s desk drawer.
Cassagne, who was working through a contracted cleaning service, allegedly used the stolen card to make multiple unauthorized transactions.
He was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on charges of felony access device fraud and misdemeanor theft. As of now, he remains in custody with no bond set, authorities confirmed.
The sheriff’s office has not disclosed the amount spent or the nature of the purchases, and the investigation is ongoing.
