The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Thane Police seized over 1.1 kilograms of mephedrone (MD) worth more than Rs 2.2 crore and arrested three individuals during a raid on Wednesday night in the Shil-Daighar area.
Based on intelligence provided to ANC constable Amol Desai, the team raided a residential building on Shil Mahape Road in Thakurpada. The arrested suspects include Aman Kamal Khan (21), who operates a poultry business; Ilias Kushal Khan (19), a hotelier; and Saifali Asabul Haque Khan (25), a driver. Aman and Ilias hail from Rajasthan.
While locals alleged that a bag of cash was seized, police officials denied this claim. Preliminary investigations reveal that the drugs were being transported from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, where authorities suspect the manufacturing hub is located.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Daighar police station. The police are currently searching for a woman believed to be involved in the operation who remains at large.
