Limestone deputies seize fentanyl from returning inmate

by Sophia Bennett

LIMESTONE, Ala. — Limestone County deputies have arrested an inmate accused of bringing fentanyl into the county jail.

Terrias Cain was found in possession of two grams of fentanyl after returning from a prison work program. He now faces charges of Drug Trafficking and Promoting Prison Contraband.

“Fentanyl is one of the most dangerous drugs we are seeing today, and we will not tolerate it entering our jail or our community,” said Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin. “I commend Corrections Officer Boldin and our Narcotics Unit for their vigilance and quick action. Our mission is to keep our facility secure, protect our staff and inmates, and hold offenders accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Cain was initially arrested on unrelated drug charges and is currently in custody.
