In a significant bust, the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), with the assistance of Sangareddy Police, apprehended two individuals involved in an international drug trafficking racket. Mohammed Salim Abdul Hamid and Mukesh Dubey, both from Mumbai, were arrested after the police seized one kilogram of MDMA and four mobile phones from them.
The investigation revealed that Rayeez, currently absconding, and Dubey had purchased the drugs from Nigerian suppliers Jerry and Jimmy at a lower price. They then supplied the MDMA to Salim.
According to TGANB Superintendent of Police (SP), P Sai Chaitanya, the operation began in December when Salim supplied 320 grams of MDMA to a customer, Shaik Amer, in Hyderabad. With the New Year celebrations approaching, Amer placed an order for one kilogram of MDMA. After finalizing the deal, Salim and Dubey planned to deliver the drug to Patancheruvu, where they were apprehended by police.
In a related operation, Shaik Amer was also arrested by Balapur Police on Wednesday, with 320 grams of MDMA seized from him.
The case is under further investigation, with authorities working to trace other members of the international drug trafficking network.
