MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Riverside County deputies arrested a Moreno Valley woman Thursday in connection with a deadly April 2025 shooting.
Authorities identified the suspect as 47-year-old Teesha Lucas. She was taken into custody without incident and booked on charges of voluntary manslaughter, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies were originally called to the 13600 block of Daimler Street on April 19, 2025, around 2:50 p.m. for an assault involving a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they found 22-year-old Xavier Cox suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Cox was transported to a nearby hospital but later died, deputies said.
Lucas was initially detained for questioning last year but was released after cooperating with investigators. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the evidence and determined that Lucas would be charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Deputies did not provide further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
