CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Two 13-year-old girls have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car, two guns, and committing several vehicle burglaries throughout Cape Coral between October 10 and 12, according to the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD).
The suspects, identified as Lazette Porter and Cali Hill, are accused of targeting unlocked vehicles—mainly sedans and SUVs—and taking personal items, credit cards, and firearms.
Police say the stolen vehicle, a sedan taken from a driveway, was later found abandoned within city limits. Surveillance footage showed two young girls breaking into multiple vehicles overnight, helping investigators connect the series of crimes.
Authorities reported that Porter and Hill were later seen driving the stolen vehicle to McDonald’s and various gas stations, where they were also found with stolen property linked to the burglaries.
On October 12, with help from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, officers located Porter at a North Fort Myers residence, recovering two handguns stolen in the burglaries. Hill was arrested at her Cape Coral home.
Both teens face multiple charges, including:
Grand theft of a motor vehicle
Two counts of armed burglary of a conveyance
Three counts of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance
Two counts of grand theft of a firearm
Petit theft
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
