Teens Arrested in Walton County Auto Theft Attempt

Suspects face felony charges after failed Dodge Charger heist

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place in north Birmingham on Sunday, August 17.

According to Birmingham Police, officers responded to the 2400 block of 34th Avenue North after reports of a person being shot. When they arrived, Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the victim to the hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities identified the suspect as 48-year-old Willie McBride, a Birmingham resident. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office issued arrest warrants for first-degree assault and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

McBride was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
