DANIA BEACH, Fla. — Broward County deputies announced the arrest of a 15-year-old boy Wednesday in connection with the murder of his 23-year-old brother.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office received a call Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. reporting a body found near a canal by Ocean Waterway Boulevard and Old Griffin Road. Deputies discovered Kevin Dominique dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators determined that Dominique’s teenage brother, Demetre Fleurimond, intentionally shot and killed him at their home on Southwest Sixth Avenue, approximately one mile from where the body was found. Fleurimond then transported his brother’s body to the wooded canal area and left it there.

Their mother, Marie Jeanty, told Local 10 News she is in shock, unable to find words to describe her grief over losing both sons. She recalled speaking to her son the morning of the incident, checking to ensure he made it to the bus stop. Fleurimond never mentioned anything about his brother Kevin, who was last seen alive on Sunday and later reported missing.

Jeanty shared, “I remember at 6:29 I called him to get out of the house. Twice I called him, he never said anything. Nothing. And he knew he killed Kevin and dumped Kevin by the lake. Drove Kevin’s car and put it by the city library parking lot.”

According to the arrest report, Fleurimond shot Kevin fifteen times to ensure he would not survive.

Demetre Fleurimond was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center and faces a first-degree murder charge.
