A 45-year-old teacher from Kirk Middle School, David DiFilippo, is facing multiple felony charges, including sexual solicitation and sexual misconduct with a student.
Delaware State Police reported that DiFilippo had inappropriate interactions with the student between September 2023 and February 2024, while teaching at the school located east of Brookside. Authorities allege that DiFilippo engaged in explicit online conversations with the student and made uncomfortable physical contact during school hours.
On Thursday, DiFilippo turned himself in and is facing several serious charges:

Enticement for Purposes of Sexual Conduct (Felony)
Dangerous Crime Against a Minor Under 14 Criminal Sexual Conduct (Felony)
Promoting Sexual Solicitation of a Child Under 18 (Felony)
Obscenity Material Provided to a Person < 18 years of Age (Felony)
Sexual Abuse of a Child by a Person of Trust 2nd Degree (Felony)

DiFilippo was granted release on a $65,500 secured bond, but he is no longer listed on the active teacher roster at Kirk Middle School. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to investigate the situation.
