CORINTH, Miss. – A Mississippi man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother, whose body was discovered in a forested area nearly a week after she went missing.
Taylor Wilbanks, 24, of Corinth, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Thursday. He is accused of killing Tracy Lynn Roberts, who was reported missing on August 17. Her remains were later found in the Holly Springs National Forest, northwest of Falkner.
In addition to the murder charge, Wilbanks is also facing a credit card fraud charge, according to local authorities.
He is currently being held in the Tippah County Jail, with bond set at $500,000 by Circuit Judge Kelly Luther.
The investigation remains ongoing.
