Two women have been charged in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents across multiple communities in Georgia, according to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the suspects as 40-year-old Tawanda Tucker and 44-year-old Amanda Nelson. Investigators allege that during one incident at a Dollar General store on Highway 158 East, Nelson distracted a store clerk while Tucker filled a cart with items such as laundry detergent and air fresheners before leaving without paying.
Deputies later connected the pair to similar thefts in Pearson, Alma, and Willacoochee. Officials said one of the incidents involved stolen merchandise valued at more than $500, elevating it to a felony charge.
The sheriff’s office noted that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed as more details emerge.
