COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Two individuals are facing felony charges after a drug bust in Franklin County on Thursday led to the discovery of cash, cocaine, and marijuana.
Authorities say the arrests occurred after a Franklin County deputy observed suspicious activity outside The New Rome Motel. Two people were seen “hastily” loading items into a vehicle, which then left the area.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop at a Marathon gas station on West Broad Street near Evergreen Terrace after noticing the car had expired tags.
During the stop, a K9 officer was deployed, leading to the discovery of:
Over $26,000 in bundled cash
Approximately 48 grams of suspected cocaine
Nearly 500 grams of marijuana
Scales and other drug distribution tools
Tatyannia McGinnis and Brindara Allen-Marshall were both arrested and charged with first-degree felony drug possession, according to reports.
The case remains under investigation by local authorities.
