Tamil Nadu Mother Arrested in Babys Death Case

Mother and Partner Held After Baby Smothered

by Ananya Mehta

In a shocking case from Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu, police have arrested a mother and her lesbian partner following the suspicious death of a six-month-old baby earlier this month.

The father of the child had raised concerns after discovering secret chats, photos, and videos suggesting an illicit relationship between his wife and her partner. Fearing that the baby may have been harmed due to tension arising from this relationship, he approached authorities.

Initially, the police had registered the case as unnatural death and did not perform a post-mortem, with the child being buried on the family’s agricultural land. However, after the father’s complaint, the baby’s body was exhumed on Friday and sent for post-mortem examination.

Investigators revealed that the baby had been smothered and strangled. During interrogation, the mother admitted that she did not want her husband’s child and expressed grievances about her marital life.

A senior police official, as reported by NDTV, stated that the investigation is ongoing and legal action will be taken if the baby’s death is confirmed as murder.

This case has raised serious concerns about child safety and the responsibilities of parents, highlighting the need for vigilant reporting and timely intervention in cases of potential child abuse.
