ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Two people were arrested after Asheville Police and state agents seized more than 2,000 grams of narcotics and several stolen firearms, authorities announced Tuesday, August 19.
According to a news release from the Asheville Police Department (APD), officers and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) made contact with Takeia Vanessa Davis, 43, and Karriam Habar Taylor, 49, around 1:29 p.m.
Both were found carrying concealed stolen firearms, prompting investigators to obtain a search warrant for a residence on Cordova Street, which was unoccupied at the time.
Inside, officers discovered a significant amount of drugs and other evidence. The seized items included:

254.67g of Fentanyl
100.6g of Purple Fentanyl
22.89g of Blue Pills (potentially pressed fentanyl)
40.23g of Powder Cocaine
61.36g of Crack Cocaine
43 unidentified pills
2.76g of green powder
3 Handguns
$3,453 in cash
Karriam Habar Taylor was arrested and charged with:
Felony parole commission violation
Felony possession of a stolen firearm
Felony possession of a firearm by a felon
Misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun
Misdemeanor resisting a public officer
Taylor was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility and held without bond due to a parole violation.
Takeia Vanessa Davis was charged with:
Felony possession of a stolen firearm
Misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun
Misdemeanor driving while license revoked
She was booked into the same facility under a $3,000 secured bond.
The Major Case Unit and Street Crimes Unit of the Asheville Police Department worked jointly with the SBI on the case, which remains under investigation.
