Taina Shermaine Hubbard Arrested After Police Pursuits in LA

Hubbard Fled Routine Traffic Stop, Injured Officer in Pursuit

by Sophia Bennett

The Church Point Police Department confirmed that Taina Shermaine Hubbard, 31, was arrested on Wednesday after leading officers on multiple pursuits that endangered a young child and injured a police officer.

Hubbard was initially pulled over for a routine traffic stop. During the stop, officers discovered that Hubbard had no driver’s license, no insurance, and that her child was unrestrained in the backseat without a car seat or seatbelt.

When officers attempted to detain Hubbard, she fled the scene, sparking a pursuit. Police were able to stop her vehicle on North Main Street, but as one officer tried to remove her from the car, Hubbard suddenly drove off, dragging the officer and nearly hitting another officer at the scene.

Hubbard was eventually arrested and faces charges related to the incident.
