CHARLOTTE, NC — The ongoing search for Julio, a 6-year-old French Bulldog stolen in early April, has led to a third arrest, but the beloved pet remains missing.
Tahari Taylor, 20, was arrested on Friday in connection to the theft of Julio, who was taken along with Jayla Gittens’ car nearly two months ago. Taylor joins at least two others previously arrested in the case: Kendra Hunter and her 14-year-old son.
Court records reveal text messages between Taylor and the teen suggesting the dog was brought to Taylor’s home. Despite these developments, there is still no information on Julio’s whereabouts.
“There are arrests and people are being held accountable,” said Gittens, “but at the end of the day, there’s still no one willing to do the right thing and give me my dog back, which I truly don’t understand.”
A $2,500 reward is still being offered by Gittens, with Crime Stoppers contributing an additional $5,000 for information that leads to Julio’s return or further arrests.
Taylor is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
