Taequan Sauls Arrested in Kinston for Drugs and Stolen Gun

Probationer faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges

A Kinston man, Taequan Sauls, 34, was arrested on January 22 during a probation compliance check conducted by the Kinston Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.

Officers from the department’s Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun reported stolen out of Greenville inside Sauls’ home on Candlewood Drive.

Sauls faces multiple charges, including:

Possession of a stolen firearm

Possession of a firearm by a felon

Exposing a child to a controlled substance

Simple possession of marijuana

Possession of drug paraphernalia

In addition, Sauls was served with probation violation paperwork and transported to the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond. The investigation and enforcement highlight the ongoing monitoring of individuals on probation in Kinston.
