Camelot Condos director faces theft, forgery charges

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Tabetha Rowe, director of the homeowners association at the troubled Camelot Condominiums, has been arrested on multiple charges, according to the South Fulton Police Department.

Rowe faces allegations including forgery, fraud, and theft by deception, though authorities have not released further details about the specific charges. She was taken into custody earlier this week and is scheduled to appear in court on August 7. As a condition of her release, she must stay away from the condo complex.

Camelot Condominiums, located on Old National Highway, has been plagued by problems for years, including fires, shootings, and financial mismanagement. In 2023 alone, at least six homicides occurred at the complex, with the most recent deadly shooting reported in May.

City leaders and community members have repeatedly called for stronger intervention. Some have even urged that the property be shut down entirely due to persistent violence and disorder.

Police say they are continuing targeted patrols in the area and working closely with community organizations to reduce crime.

This is not the first scandal tied to Camelot’s HOA. In 2023, two other board members were charged with embezzling funds from a $1.5 million insurance payout intended for residents affected by a 2020 fire.

Rowe’s arrest adds to a growing list of legal and public safety concerns tied to the embattled property, intensifying calls for oversight and reform.
