Two suspects have been arrested in Lusaka in connection with the theft of more than 1,500 bags of fertiliser from Export Trading Group (ETG).

According to Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, the theft took place at ETG’s warehouse between 6 p.m. on April 20, 2025, and 6 a.m. on April 21, 2025.

The suspects were identified as 47-year-old truck driver Sydney Muma and 38-year-old businessman Andrew Hamunji, who is based in Mumbwa.

Police investigations led to the recovery of 366 ETG-branded 50-kilogramme bags of Urea fertiliser from Hamunji’s shop.

Authorities say the truck used in the operation was part of the transportation process, and both suspects are now in custody as investigations continue.
