Thai immigration police arrested a Swedish man named Ludde, 39, in Pattaya. He was wanted by courts in Stockholm and European authorities for serious fraud.
Ludde used fake documents and pretended to be company representatives to trick businesses into giving him goods and services without paying. Between September 2021 and April 2025, he committed 11 fraud cases causing about 1.15 million Swedish kronor (around $106,000 USD) in damages. He also tried to commit fraud in two more cases, with about 304,000 kronor (around $28,000 USD) in attempted damages.
There are two arrest warrants for Ludde: one from Stockholm District Court and one European Arrest Warrant.
Police found and arrested Ludde at a condominium in Pattaya, where he was living. He is now detained while authorities work with Swedish officials on the case.
Thai police say this arrest is part of a government effort to crack down on foreign criminals who enter Thailand to commit crimes and threaten public safety.
The day before, Thai immigration officers arrested a 33-year-old Finnish man wanted in Norway for serious crimes including murder and drug offenses.
