The Swaroop Nagar police have apprehended the leader of an e-rickshaw and battery theft gang, Akash, along with his associates Vishal Sharma and Mohit Katheriya.
According to DCP Central Shravan Kumar Singh, the accused have multiple cases registered against them: Akash has 9 cases, Vishal 5 cases, and Mohit 3 cases.
The trio had recently carried out a series of e-rickshaw thefts in the jurisdictions of Sismaau, Gwaltoli, and Colonelganj police stations. Police are continuing investigations to identify additional accomplices and recover stolen vehicles and batteries.
Authorities commended the Swaroop Nagar police team for their swift action in dismantling the gang and preventing further thefts in the city.
