LAUREL, Del. — Delaware State Police have announced the arrest of the suspect involved in last week’s armed robbery at a Laurel fast food restaurant. The suspect, 28-year-old Damiean Turner, was apprehended in Cambridge, Maryland after a citizen recognized a black Honda matching the description of the vehicle used in the robbery.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday when police responded to a tip from a resident who spotted a black Honda with Maryland plates, matching the car seen in the armed robbery at Hardee’s in Laurel two days earlier. Upon investigation, officers identified Turner as the driver and subsequently confirmed his involvement in the robbery.
Turner is currently in custody and will be extradited back to Delaware to face the following charges:
First-degree robbery
Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
Possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited
Aggravated menacing
Theft
Wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony
The Delaware State Police commended the efforts of the Cambridge Police in successfully identifying and apprehending Turner, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to ensure all legal proceedings follow through.
