SANTA MONICA, CA — A 58-year-old Los Angeles man, Craig Anthony Richey, was arrested for his alleged role in a violent home invasion robbery in Santa Monica, where $56,000 in jewelry was stolen.
The incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on April 23 in the 2000 block of La Mesa Drive, where the suspect reportedly brandished a firearm before fleeing with high-value items. Detectives quickly tracked the stolen jewelry, leading to Richey’s arrest later that evening. He was booked for first-degree robbery under California Penal Code 211.
Santa Monica Police are still investigating and exploring whether additional suspects or related crimes may be connected.
Neighbor Alert Leads to Burglary Arrests
In a separate burglary attempt on Urban Street, a vigilant neighbor’s call helped police apprehend two suspects. One was caught fleeing; the other was found trying to pry open a door and was in possession of a replica handgun.
