Sushil Dhawan Arrested for Multi-Crore Share Fraud

Kanpur police nab accused from clinic near JK Mandir

Kanpur police arrested Sushil Dhawan, accused in multiple share trading fraud cases, from a clinic near JK Mandir Nahariya on Friday morning. Dhawan had been undergoing treatment at the clinic for the past three days.

More than six cases have been registered against him at Nazirababad and Kakadeo police stations, with his wife Anjali Dhawan and father also named as co-accused. On Monday, victims met DCP Central, filing complaints that led to the investigation being handed over to ADCP Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke.

A resident of Moti Vihar Society, Sarvodaya Nagar, Dhawan operated a share broking office in Kaushalpuri, claiming to trade shares with clients’ consent.

In 2021, Pradeep Manga from Pandu Nagar filed a complaint against Dhawan, his wife, and Rudra Shares and Brokers for allegedly grabbing shares worth Rs2 crore using forged documents.

In 2024, Richa Sharma lodged a case for embezzlement of Rs51 lakh.

On January 1, another report detailed frauds totaling Rs60 lakh and Rs7 lakh, including a complaint by a central excise and customs officer.

Businessman Prateesh Rastogi also filed a complaint accusing Dhawan of grabbing shares worth Rs1.57 crore.

Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing under ADCP Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke to trace additional victims, recover defrauded funds, and examine the role of co-accused.
