Surathkal police have arrested Gururaj, a known rowdy-sheeter, in connection with a violent bar brawl that occurred Thursday night. The altercation left two youths injured.
Alongside Gururaj, police apprehended Sushanth alias Kadavi (29) of Kana, K.V. Alex Santosh (27) of Idya, Nithin (26) of Surathkal, and Arun Shetty (56) of Honnakatte, who allegedly provided shelter to the accused.
According to police reports, Gururaj and the group, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, had a confrontation with Nizam, his friend Hassan Mukshid, and two others around 10:30 p.m. at a bar in Kana. During the fight, Nizam was stabbed, and Mukshid was attacked with sharp weapons.
Police are continuing their search for another suspect, Ashok, who is believed to be harboring the accused. All arrested individuals have been taken into custody as investigations continue.
