Surathkal Police Arrest Three in House Burglary Case

Gold worth Rs4.43 lakh recovered from accused

Surathkal police have arrested three individuals in connection with a house burglary reported from Mukka Mithrapatna. The incident involved the theft of gold ornaments and cash from the residence of an elderly woman, Jalaja, on December 3.

The arrested accused are:

Shine H Putran alias Shayan alias Shine (21) of Guddekopla, Surathkal

Vinod Kumar alias Kothi alias Vinod (33) of Yelachenahalli, Bengaluru

Girish alias Cycle Giri (28) of Udipalya, Kanakapura Main Road, Bengaluru

Police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs4.43 lakhRs3,000 in cash, three mobile phones, and the motorcycle used in the crime from the accused.

Following the registration of the case, a team led by PSI Raghu Naik analysed CCTV footage from the victim’s neighborhood. Based on the footage and interrogation, Shine H Putran was taken into custody. He confessed to committing the burglary along with Jason alias Lenson of Karkala, Udupi district, and revealed that the stolen gold had been sold to Vinod Kumar in Bengaluru.

Acting on this information, police arrested Vinod Kumar and Girish. Jason alias Lenson, who directly participated in the burglary, is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.

Police records indicate that Shine H Putran has a prior case related to ganja consumption at Surathkal police station. Vinod Kumar has a rowdy sheet at KSR Layout police station, Bengaluru, with cases including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, criminal intimidation, ganja sale, and Arms Act violations. Girish also has a rowdy sheet at Kaggalipura police station, Bengaluru, facing multiple cases of attempt to murder, robbery, and assault.
