On Tuesday, October 7, Surathkal Police apprehended an alleged inter-State thief from Kerala, Hamja Kuppikanda, also known as Hamsa or Hamja Ponnan. The 29-year-old, son of Shaji alias Shafi from Varkala village, Thiruvananthapuram district, was arrested in connection with theft. Police recovered a motorcycle and a pickup vehicle worth Rs3.1 lakh from him. The authorities are investigating further details surrounding the thefts.
