Surat Police arrested two youths on Monday after seizing Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 10.06 lakh from them. The arrest was made following a tip-off and was part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking. The two youths, identified as Badrikumar Pandey (21) and Prashant Prajapati (19), both residents of Pandesara, were intercepted by a special squad led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 4, Vijaysingh Gurjar, on Sunday evening in the Timaliyawad area.
During the operation, officers found 100.60 grams of MD, which is estimated to be worth Rs 10.06 lakh, in the possession of the two suspects. Both were arrested on the spot. Further investigation led to the arrest of their agent, who was found with ganja worth Rs 17,000 at his residence in Pandesara.
The police are continuing to investigate the drug trafficking network, with further legal action being taken against the arrested individuals.
