Surat Katargam police arrested a tenant on Sunday for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery from his landlord’s flat on December 3. Authorities recovered Rs 2.69 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh, which the accused had reportedly left hanging in a bag on his motorcycle at a roadside.
The accused, Daxesh Patel, who is allegedly also the owner of the motorcycle, was produced in court where police secured one day’s remand for further investigation.
Police are continuing to investigate the case to determine if there were any accomplices or additional stolen property.
