Surat: Police arrested three individuals on Monday, including an avionics engineer employed at Surat Airport, in connection with a large-scale mobile phone theft racket. Authorities recovered 279 stolen mobile phones valued at approximately Rs16.79 lakh.
The engineer, identified as Dhiraj Jhope, allegedly bought stolen phones from the other two accused and dismantled them. He then sold valuable spare parts such as motherboards and displays to various phone servicing centers across Surat.
