Shimla: Police have arrested an alleged interstate drug kingpin, Sunny Rathore (48), from Punjab’s Fazilka district in connection with a narcotics case linked to Shimla.

Rathore, a resident of Abohar, was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into a heroin (chitta) supply network operating across states.

Earlier, on January 8, Shimla police had apprehended four individuals—Aman Verma (37), Sanjeev Kumar (35), Rohit Kumar (33), and Nikhil (33)—from Theog area and recovered around 10 grams of heroin from their possession.

Following the arrests, a case was registered under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Theog Police Station.

Investigators believe Rathore played a key role in supplying narcotics to the accused and is part of a wider interstate drug network. Further investigation is underway to trace additional links and dismantle the supply chain.
