A 40-year-old woman, Sunita Devi, tragically lost her life following a violent altercation at a brick kiln in the Itaunja area under Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) on Saturday. Police have arrested three men and filed a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The conflict began with a minor dispute between children fetching water from a tap, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation between adult workers.
Sunita Devi, a native of Bihar residing at the kiln with her family, sustained critical injuries after being struck multiple times with bricks in the stomach and chest. She was rushed to Ram Sagar Mishra Combined Hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Her husband, Khelawan Majhi, lodged a complaint leading to the registration of an FIR against:
Rajkumar and Ramkishore of Hardoiya village, Sidhauli
Rambharose of Vikram Saraiya village, Kamalapur
BKT Inspector Markandeya Yadav confirmed that all three accused were arrested the same day near Aramba canal bridge.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are gathering witness statements from the brick kiln site.
