Summerville, SC — Christopher Kaleb Sturm-Gadsden, a Summerville resident, was arrested Dec. 30 in connection with the theft of over two dozen packages from residents at the Latitude at Wescott apartment complex, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Sturm-Gadsden was charged with second-degree burglary. Police were initially called on Dec. 23 after multiple residents reported missing packages from the complex’s mail room, which included remote-controlled cars, dolls, protein powder, necklaces, and hair coloring products.
Apartment management informed officers that the suspect was likely a resident of the complex. During the investigation, police found empty boxes and shipping bags with other residents’ names inside Sturm-Gadsden’s apartment, as well as opened and partially opened packages outside the building.
Many of the stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners, and Sturm-Gadsden was transported to the Dorchester County Detention Center.
