In a significant operation targeting drug trafficking, the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch Unit One arrested two individuals, Sumit Ganesh Pille (32) and Kanishkaraj alias Rana Arun Surwase (21), for allegedly selling mephedrone sulfate injections. The narcotics seized were valued at Rs32,400.
The arrest occurred after the Crime Branch received credible information from Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doiphode. The suspects were apprehended near the HP Petrol Pump in Chikhli while attempting to distribute the drugs. In addition to the narcotic injections, the police also confiscated two motorcycles and two mobile phones, bringing the total value of the seized items to Rs2,32,000.
This operation was conducted under the leadership of Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, with coordination from several senior officers, including Joint Commissioner Shashikant Mahavarkar and Additional Commissioner Vasant Pardeshi. The success of the raid can be attributed to the meticulous planning and swift action by Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam and his dedicated team.
In a separate operation, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch arrested Atish Sanjay Nimbalkar (25) for selling marijuana in the Sambhajinagar area of Chinchwad. The police seized 310 grams of marijuana, valued at Rs15,500, and registered a case at Nigdi Police Station. The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests possible in connection with drug distribution activities in the region.
