Police in Khargone arrested the prime accused in a multi-crore burglary case involving a businessman’s residence in Delhi’s Krishna Nagar area.
The accused, Sumeet Sikligar (19), was apprehended late Sunday during a raid conducted at the house of his relative, Nirmal Sikligar, in Signoor village, Khargone district. Police officers found Sumeet sleeping near the house when they detained him.
Sumeet, originally from Umarthi Village under Warla police station limits, was currently residing in Aakash Nagar, Indore. Authorities also seized a car purchased using the stolen money from his possession.
Khargone Superintendent of Police, Ravindra Verma, stated that Sumeet was wanted in connection with a burglary that occurred on September 12, 2025, at the residence of businessman M L Surana in Krishna Nagar, Shahdara district. During the theft, the accused allegedly stole Rs 21.11 lakh in cash and over 1 kilogram of gold jewellery.
Two associates of Sumeet were reportedly involved in the crime. Krishna Nagar police had previously visited Khargone district in search of him but were unable to locate him.
Sumeet Sikligar has now been handed over to the Krishna Nagar Police Station for further investigation. Police are continuing to track down his accomplices and recover any remaining stolen property.
