In two significant anti-narcotics operations this week, the Delhi Police arrested three individuals for possessing and attempting to distribute illegal drugs in the capital.
In the first incident, officers from the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the West District apprehended Sujeet Kumar (28) and Badal Pandit (26)—both hailing from Saharsa district, Bihar—with over 4 kilograms of ganja. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted near Balaji Swimming Centre, Tagore Garden, on June 2. A plastic sack containing the contraband was seized. Legal action has been initiated under the NDPS Act at Rajouri Garden Police Station.
DCP West Vichitra Veer confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing to track the broader supply chain involved.
In a separate case, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested David Leanne, a Nigerian national, from the Old Mahabir Nagar area of Tilak Nagar. He was found in possession of 282 grams of cocaine, a quantity classified as commercial under the NDPS Act.
DCP ANTF Apoorva Gupta stated that a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) field test confirmed the seized yellow powder as cocaine. The arrest was based on precise intelligence inputs, and a case has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station.
Both operations reflect the Delhi Police’s intensified efforts against drug trafficking, combining technical surveillance and rapid field action to crack down on narcotics networks.
