— through which they falsely offered prasada delivery, special poojas, and other religious services, charging unsuspecting devotees.

The scam came to light after repeated complaints reached the management of Horanadu Temple. Raghavendra, the deputy administrator, filed a formal complaint, prompting SP Vikram Amathe to form a special investigation team.

The police tracked down and apprehended the culprits, exposing their elaborate con targeting religious devotees.

Authorities have issued a strong advisory urging the public to verify the authenticity of temple websites before making payments. Devotees are advised to only use official temple websites or contact temple authorities directly.
