Aldershot man Steven Bull, 30, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after repeatedly raping a woman in her 30s in 2021.
Winchester Crown Court heard that Bull’s attacks were violent and controlling. He slapped the victim’s face, punched her ribs, and struck her arms and legs, leaving her with black eyes and bite marks.
Hampshire Police launched an investigation after the victim reported the assaults. Bull was arrested and charged. Following a trial, he was found guilty of two counts of raping a woman over 16 and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
Bull received a total sentence of 15 years at Salisbury Crown Court on 7th November.
Detective Constable Graeme Calver, from Amberstone North, praised the victim for her courage:
“No one should live in fear for their safety. Everyone should feel safe in their community. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated. I hope the victim can now move forward and rebuild her life, and this result sends a clear message to offenders that they will be caught and dealt with robustly.”
