VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. — The Storey County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 63-year-old Steven Bowron of Reno following a shooting incident on Saturday afternoon near B Street and Union Street.

Deputies responded around 3:45 p.m. on June 28 after receiving reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered Bowron had fled on foot but were able to locate and arrest him shortly afterward.

An investigation revealed Bowron, reportedly intoxicated, became involved in an argument with family members over having his keys taken. As the family members left, Bowron allegedly fired six shots toward their vehicle before attempting to discard the gun in a nearby parking lot.

The victims, who were inside the vehicle, sustained no injuries, but the car’s driver’s side was struck by bullet holes. Deputies recovered the firearm and six shell casings from the scene.

Bowron was booked into the Storey County Detention Facility and faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, destroying or concealing evidence, possession of a firearm while under the influence, discharging a firearm in public, disregard for safety, and firing at a vehicle.

His bail was set at $175,140.
