ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Three family members from Alamance County are facing dozens of felony charges for their roles in a large-scale insurance fraud scheme, according to North Carolina state officials.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced that Steven Herbert Andrews, 36, William Grant Andrews Sr., 65, and William Grant Andrews Jr., 39 were arrested following an in-depth investigation by the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division.
The trio, who operate multiple businesses in home repair and real estate management, are accused of filing fraudulent and inflated insurance claims to the N.C. Joint Underwriting Association (FAIR Plan)—including for damages that never occurred.
The alleged fraud spanned from November 2021 to September 2023.

1 count of forgery
All three men surrendered voluntarily on June 17 and appeared in Alamance County District Court the following day. They were released on written promises to appear.
