WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.Y. — A South Glens Falls couple was arrested after allegedly committing fraud involving SNAP benefits, authorities said.
43-year-old Steven Lathrop and 31-year-old Jennifer Lathrop were charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, a Class E felony, following a joint investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Department of Social Services.
Investigators determined the couple received $1,368 in overpaid SNAP benefits between May 1 and June 30, 2023, due to unreported income.
Both Steven and Jennifer Lathrop were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Town of Fort Edward Court at a later date.
