ASHEBORO, N.C. – Two men were arrested in Randolph County on May 28, 2025, after deputies located a wanted individual and a separate suspect in possession of illegal drugs.
Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 220 South in Asheboro in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, they observed a male suspect fleeing into the nearby woods. After a short foot chase, deputies apprehended the suspect, later identified as Stetson Roy Cagle. He was found to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including a felony probation violation and failure to appear in court.
Due to concerns about his recent use of illegal substances, EMS evaluated Cagle at the scene and transported him to Randolph Health for further medical assessment. Following evaluation, he was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served with his warrants and issued $7,000 in secured bonds. His first court appearance was scheduled for June 2, 2025.
During the same incident, deputies also encountered Max Gray Harris, who had outstanding warrants and was found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Harris was arrested and taken to the Detention Center, where he was formally charged with felony heroin possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bond, with a first court appearance also scheduled for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Authorities have not released further details about the origin of the warrants or the quantity of drugs found.
