South Beach, FL – Miami Beach police arrested Stephen Rich, 29, and Keianti “Tae” Collins, 35, after a raid uncovered stolen firearms, drugs, and cash in an apartment where a toddler was present.
According to police records, authorities had been investigating Collins, a convicted felon in Ohio and Florida, for alleged drug trafficking. The investigation stemmed from complaints about heavy foot traffic near his South Beach apartment, located between Euclid and Meridian Avenues.
Undercover Operation & Arrests
Before the arrests, undercover officers conducted controlled drug purchases from Collins in March, buying Oxycodone pills and marijuana near Flamingo Park. On Saturday, police executed a search warrant at the apartment and seized:
Three stolen, loaded guns
Ammunition
$18,330 in cash
Nearly 60 grams of Oxycodone
7.7 pounds of marijuana
Cocaine
Rich, who was visiting from Ohio, was identified as the father of the toddler found inside the apartment. Both men were arrested and booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Sunday.
Charges & Court Appearance
On Monday, both suspects appeared in county court facing multiple charges:
Rich: Charged with child neglect and drug possession in the presence of a minor ($10,000 bond).
Collins: Faces 15 charges, including drug trafficking, firearm possession, child neglect, and selling drugs near a school. His bond was denied.
