Stephen Duffett, 30, of Cardigan Road, Doncaster, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on January 24, 2025, where he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

On December 14, 2024, Duffett stole a high-value bicycle from a property on Honeysuckle Close and attempted to burgle another residence on the same street. Following a CCTV investigation, it was discovered that he had also tried to gain entry to yet another property nearby.

Duffett was arrested on December 24, and charged with burglary of a dwelling, attempted burglary with intent to steal, and theft of a pedal cycle. Due to the strong CCTV evidence, he pleaded guilty to the first two charges. The theft of the bicycle will remain on file.

In addition to his sentence, Duffett was ordered to pay a surcharge of £228.
