WEST POINT, Miss. — Authorities have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with a large copper theft investigation in Clay County.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Stephen Carpenter, 37, of West Point, was taken into custody and charged with grand larceny.
Investigators say the thefts occurred in September and October at a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) facility and involved approximately $46,000 worth of copper.
Earlier this week, the sheriff’s office announced the arrests of Christopher Hendon, 27; Michael McFalls, 23; and Madison Ray, 26. Hendon and McFalls face grand larceny and malicious mischief charges, while Ray is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
