A Jacksonville caregiver has been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $100,000 from an elderly patient, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives reported that in February 2024, the patient’s caregiver, 38-year-old Stacy Ann Gordon, opened a fraudulent credit card in the victim’s name, linked to a business owned by Gordon. Between April and November 2024, more than $98,075.95 was reportedly taken. Evidence indicates Gordon acted with the intent to permanently deprive the patient of her property.
Gordon was located in New Jersey in January 2026, where authorities served a warrant for her arrest. She now faces multiple charges, including:
Scheme to defraud $50,000 or more
Criminal use of personal identification information
Grand theft
Exploitation of an elderly person
The investigation is ongoing, and Gordon is expected to face prosecution in Florida courts.
