SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Springfield Police have arrested three individuals connected to a drug distribution ring operating in and around Hennessey Park, seizing an AK-47 assault rifle along with narcotics and cash.
Detectives, after several months of investigation, identified 19-year-old Vidal Hernandez-Vazquez of Indian Orchard, 47-year-old Idaliz Maisonet of Springfield, and 45-year-old Rebecca Pachot, also of Springfield, as suspects in the case.
On Wednesday morning, law enforcement executed search warrants at residences on Sycamore Street and Worcester Street in Indian Orchard, as well as a vehicle connected to the suspects.
At the Sycamore Street location, police detained Maisonet and Pachot. Hernandez-Vazquez was located hiding in an attic but surrendered without incident.
The search uncovered approximately 34 grams of crack cocaine, around 607 bags of heroin/fentanyl (totaling 12.1 grams), and $2,885 in cash. Authorities also confiscated an AK-47 style rifle loaded with 30 rounds, in addition to another 51 rounds of ammunition and a firearm magazine.
Simultaneously, at the Worcester Street residence, six individuals were found but later released. Officers seized 15 rounds of ammunition and $3,970 in cash, bringing the total amount of cash seized to $6,855.
All three suspects face multiple charges related to firearms and drug distribution. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue efforts to dismantle drug operations in the area.
