EDGEMOOR, S.C. – Authorities in Chester County, South Carolina, have made one of the largest drug busts in the county’s history, seizing a significant amount of illegal substances, weapons, and cash.

On January 31, 2025, deputies from the Chester County Sheriff’s Office confiscated 3.7 pounds of fentanyl, 87 grams of crack cocaine, and about 2 pounds of marijuana. Along with the drugs, deputies also seized 17 firearms, two vehicles, and over $91,000 in cash.

Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey emphasized the dangers of these drugs, noting that the fentanyl alone could have killed over 800,000 people. “These drugs are killing people throughout our country, and Chester County is no exception,” Dorsey said. He added that the sheriff’s office would continue to use every available resource to eradicate drug traffickers from the county.

Travaris and Lamonica Dixon were arrested in connection with the bust. They face multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, as well as possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be forthcoming.

Sheriff Dorsey called for families struggling with addiction to seek immediate help, stressing that delays could be fatal.
