Under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Naharlagun police have arrested two drug peddlers, seizing 55.05 grams of heroin in a two-stage operation that spanned Borum and Doimukh in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo, the operation was launched based on credible intelligence inputs regarding drug trafficking in Borum, near Naharlagun.
A team led by SDPO Rishi Longdo and Inspector Torum Mai, under the SP’s supervision, intercepted Soriful Islam (41). During interrogation, Islam revealed crucial details that led the police to Doimukh in Papum Pare district, where a follow-up raid was conducted.
There, the police arrested Techi Bharat (26), the main supplier. A thorough search of his house and person led to the recovery of 39 vials of heroin, weighing approximately 55.05 grams.
The police emphasized their continued efforts to combat drug peddling in the region and affirmed that further investigation is underway.
